Sunday Morning service – 10:00 am

If you’re attending a Christian Science church service for the first time, there are many elements which will be familiar to you — hymns, prayer, readings from the Bible, a warm sense of fellowship. One unique feature is that we don’t have personal preachers or pastors conducting the services. Instead, two lay readers conduct services that are based on lessons made up of passages from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and address such topics as God, Christ Jesus, and God the Preserver of Man. Each service concentrates on a central subject. Some of these subjects include: God; Love; Christ Jesus; Man; Are Sin, Disease, and Death, Real?; Probation After Death; and God the Preserver of Man.

All our services begin with singing! Afterward, we hear short readings from the Bible followed by silent prayer, and then we pray aloud the Lord’s Prayer with its spiritual interpretation from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Then, we sing a hymn, followed by few announcements regarding current activities.

A solo is sung which relates to the subject of our Weekly Bible Lesson.

Afterward, the Weekly Bible Lesson, which serves as a sermon, is then read from the Bible and “Science and Health”. A collection is taken.

The service is closed with a hymn, short citations, and a benediction.

You are welcome to come early and listen to music, and stay after the service to chat with other members and visitors. Please know that you will never be pressured to join the group, take part, or to take up the study of Christian Science.

Wednesday Meeting – Noon (In-person and online)

Our service begins with singing! The message for the Wednesday testimony meeting is prepared and read by a member serving as the First Reader and is on a topic of his or her choosing. Sharing of experiences, testimonies of healing, and remarks on Christian Science are given by attendees during the last half of the service. In the testimonies, members share how their practice of Christian Science has helped and healed them. No collection is taken.

You can now dial-in to our Wednesday evening meeting and listen live to the full meeting. Now, from the comfort of your own home, from your car, or from anywhere you get a phone signal, you can join us for the important sharing of how our dear Pleasant Hill branch church “…affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick.” – Science and Health, pg 583

Just follow the simple instructions on the Listen page in order to join in.
